However you can cut down on the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a vendor, or trading them with other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded using a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia or a rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to convey information via visuals. Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to become unstable and the shards of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also put a glyph on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and be distributed slowly to the wearer instead of all at once. This is useful for those who take many hits from their enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens permit players to alter the affixes on their weapons and equipment and can be found through a variety of methods like mistery boxes, as an uncommon drop from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Every reroll grants the player an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Items that have been rerolled do not appear in the  item upgrade  menu, but they are still eligible to receive upgrades. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the rerolled items. This will alter the layout of the item's window, and allow up to six items to be chosen for recycling. Recycling an item adds a small amount of points to its gauge of level. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, which means items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls roll a percentage chance to determine a weapon's trait. Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it with cash or food items that will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. The developers aren't planning to introduce paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. Instead, they're planning add a race change potion in the future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The first way to level up an item upgrade is to increase the amount of upgrade. This increases the value of upgrading the stat. The second option is to boost the effect of the upgrade, which boosts damage or healing for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. After this, the new item will keep its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
